Google Notifier Install

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

Good job google. I like the install process for Google Notifier (i.e. drag app from disk image to where ever I want). All your other applications' installers suck. Save your crappy installation program for clueless windows users. Let us install by dragging and dropping.

Gmail Browser

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

Gmail Browser! Why? I had been keeping until a few days ago a separate firefox window just for gmail. But I'm tired of Firefox freaking out and deciding that it only knows the email address that I don't want to use for a contact that has two emails. When I switched ...

Boo, Google!

Friday, January 18th, 2008

So I went through my gmail address book selecting all the addresses I don't want popping up when I'm typing in an email address. I got about 128 addresses that I have sent an email too or (more likely) received an email from that I will probably never use again. Guess ...

Um… Why?

Friday, November 30th, 2007

Google just announced Google Gadgets for Mac. I don't understand. The standard way to get dashboard widgets is to download them from wherever (direct from apple or just direct from the developer) and install them. Google's way is to install software that I don't need (google desktop) in order to browse ...

Welcome back, Mail.app

Thursday, November 1st, 2007

So, Google has finally activated IMAP on my gmail account, so I'm giving it a try with Leopard Mail. It's kinda nice to be able to see my gmail archives w/o searching... We'll see how this goes. *1. Mail.app is downloading my entire archive right now. *2. When I delete something from ...

Gmail vs. Safari

Wednesday, September 5th, 2007

iPhone

Tuesday, June 5th, 2007

The new iPhone commercials look really good. I'm most excited about the ability to find a place nearby with Google and dial that number. My guess is that the iPhone locates you using cell phone tower triangulation. It wouldn't really even need triangulation. As long as you had a signal ...

Book of Nehemiah Speed Reading

Monday, March 26th, 2007

I got two hits from Google from people(a person?) searching for "book of nehemiah speed reading." I'll give you a hint: It's 13 chapters! Just read it!

Google?

Monday, October 9th, 2006

There has been a huge drop in visitors to this site since June. It seems to be because I'm getting no traffic from Google anymore. I'm not sure why, although I heard that they stopped indexing blogs that included posts about cats, and this one had a few posts about ...

iChat and gtalk

Monday, July 24th, 2006

Sometime today they stopped being friendly... I am using the web-based gtalk client in gmail, but it doesn't make any sound, so if you have AIM, contact me there if you need me badly. Otherwise email is (usually) working! Edit (7/25/06): they seem to be working again...
