some good tips. I've turned off keyboard shortcuts myself because I rarely use them, and quite a few times I've started typing a message and because of a slight lag in the message box expanding, gmail assumed I was typing a shortcut (if modifier keys were required, this wouldn't be a problem) and did whatever (archived? deleted? I don't know) to the message. Usually I'm able to remember what I was doing and retrieve the message, but at least once I couldn't remember and couldn't find the message.
