Probably an overreaction, but some of the blanket statements are true some of the time :D

"The new ad effort is expected to use some variation of the slogan "Windows, Not Walls," according to several people familiar with the matter. "
They are just asking for: "In a world without walls, who needs Windows. In a world without fences, who needs Gates." -
I had a similar reaction (though not as extreme, but maybe the language is just hyperbole) to the church I now attend. Maybe because I have a meta-church group that is extremely relational I was able to stick with it long enough to overcome this reaction and go from "attending because all my friends do" to "not really wanting to leave because of the people".
The bit about age segregation is dead on.

Mixes in a little bit of Lincoln history with commentary on the Saddleback forum.

The article from the Times on the internet, multitasking, and distraction was interesting. I would agree with you that it overreacted a little bit–it read like the advent of the internet has doomed our attention spans–but yeah, there is a danger in spending too much time thinking in this information-inundation mode.
Did you read the article from the Atlantic that it references? http://www.theatlantic.com/doc/200807/google . It’s a much more balanced look at the issue, not so quick to condemn, and more willing to speculate on its ramifications. I recommend it.
