Proverbs 13:23
April 10, 2008 – 11:47 amAbundant food is in the fallow ground of the poor,
But it is swept away by injustice.
(NASB)
This is basically the entirety of the book I read a little bit back: The Mystery of Capital.
The author adds in a few accounts of history, empirical evidence, and practical answers to this problem, but the point of the book is the same as Proverbs.
Which reminds me of another little quote by Solomon:
That which has been is that which will be,
And that which has been done is that which will be done.
So there is nothing new under the sun.
Is there anything of which one might say,
“See this, it is new”?
Already it has existed for ages
Which were before us.
(Ecclesiastes 1:9-10)
