Application Launchers

Sapiens is what I’m trying out right now. It has replaced quicksilver for the moment, but I haven’t gotten to do much with it yet.
I know that quicksilver is more than just an application launcher, but because of all that extra cool stuff (that I never use) it is anything but quick.
(I hit command space and 3 to 8 seconds later it is ready to accept keystrokes, I can open my application folder and find the app in that amount of time.) It is free though.
I just want something to easily launch the 12 or so applications that I don’t want to keep in the dock. If Sapiens doesn’t do the trick, I’m going back to LaunchBar (Which has started to bloat up like quicksilver.)

Yeah, I didn’t even mention spotlight…
It was as slow or slower than quicksilver back when I was using it…
I followed some random directions for disabling spotlight’s indexing, and now it doesn’t work…
I’ll put up more about sapiens when I have used it more… But they have a great intro movie at their site…

spotlight is supposed to have more features and improvements in leopard. i hope so….
for me i don’t trust closed source free apps. you never know what you are getting on your machine. also when you move around and have to work on machines that aren’t your own and/ or are ‘work’ machines i try to keep with what i know will be there! i am paranoid ha.
