Psalm 127:1

Unless the LORD builds the house,
its builders labor in vain.
Unless the LORD watches over the city,
the watchmen stand guard in vain.

Our efforts, separate from God, are useless.

Ecclesiastes 1:9

What has been will be again,
what has been done will be done again;
there is nothing new under the sun.

There were no “good ol’ days” and there is no “human progress.”

Romans 8:28

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Whether in hard times or easy, everything is working out for the good of those called according to God’s purpose.

James 2:26

For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.

Get off yo’ lazy butt and get to work.
