Safari vs. Firefox
June 15, 2007 – 9:39 pmI used Safari 3 for a couple of days… It’s nice, but there are fewer things that annoy me about Firefox than Safari.
Using Safari I get tons of windows… it’s like tabbed browsing doesn’t even exist… I rarely want more than one browser window…
AdBlock Filterset G does not work with Safari…
I guess those are the two biggies..

“Safari” “Preferences” “Tabs” “Enable Tabbed browsing”
Gets rid of one problem.
But Firefox still has its advatages. It likes certain sites more, for one. . .

Yeah, I mean even with tabbed browsing… most links open in new windows unless I command click them, and some links open in new windows even if I command click them…

even if you go to “preferences” “General” and at the bottom click the box that says “open links from applications” in a new tab in the current window?
Then again, I’m working from a Mac, so maybe it’s different. . . but this works for me.

I\’m using a mac…
I had an extension installed that made it work 99% of the time, but it was one of those beg-ware programs, and it didn\’t work 100% of the time so I got rid of it…
When I select \”cmd-click opens links in new tab in current window\” that mostly works, but I don\’t want to cmd-click things, I want to just click them… If I de-select that (which I would assume means regular click opens links in a new tab in current window) there is no way to open things in a new tab short of right clicking…
