Flock VII

October 2, 2006 – 12:22 pm

A new verison of Flock came out sometime.

It seems to have fixed, or at least made less prevalent, the Gigantic Insertion Point problem I have been experiencing, where an huge insertion
point appears on a page and then stays there when I go to other pages.

*Edit*: The problem is still around. It seems to show up mostly in gmail. The insertion point appears just to the left of the messages in the inbox and is the same height as however many messages I have.

Still no integration with the built in OS X spell checker.

Flock doesn’t support folders in the bookmark toolbar, so when I want to load all my comics, I have to go to Favorites>Comics>Open in Tabs. The worst part of the whole thing is that I can’t take the diagonal to get to the bottom of the sub-menu and click on Open in Tabs… I have to go horizontaly and then down… I can take the diagonal if I try once (and fail) then go back to comics… It locks on then and lets me go diagonaly.

Basically what I am saying is that I don’t like that this isn’t a native Mac application, and I can tell.

  4. Hey Dwight,

That text insertion thing sounds weird. Mind posting it to the support forums so our support team can help you?

The next major release, coming later this year, will support folders in addition to tagging in favorites. We won’t have intergration with the OSX spellchecker until Firefox does likely, but we will have inline spellchecking because that release will be based on Firefox 2.0.
