Parfait

August 14, 2006 – 1:23 am

This isn’t really a recipe, more of an idea…

I put some cereal, yougurt, and fruit in layers and eat it…

I use vanilla flavored yogurt.

For fruit, I’ve tried frozen fruit, clementine orange slices, and dried cranberries (all in different parfaits)

For the cereal, I have tried some knock off of grape nuts, and Kashai Go Lean Crunch… Last time I also sprinkled some raw oatmeal on top…

I kind of do layers, but when I eat it, I mix it all up, so that isn’t too important.

As a side note, I tried making a smoothie today out of tea, ice, clementines, and frozen peaches… I would say that that is not a good combo… It might be healthy, but it doesn’t taste good.

  2. For whatever reason, the flavors of peaches and oranges (or other citrus fruits) don’t mix well. You want to do peaches with strawberries, mango, or nectarines. Oranges, on the other hand, work well with strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, pineapple, mango, blackberries, or any fruit except peaches. In a fresh fruit salad, you can mix ANY of the above or apples, pears, plums, grapes and then sprinkle a bit of Splenda and a spoonful of frozen orange juice concentrate for a YUMMY and TASTY treat! And, don’t forget to freeze some grapes, then pop one in your mouth. YUMMY!

  3. it isn’t so much that they didn’t mix well as that they didn’t taste… at all. It was like cold tea with ice in it that had been sitting next to an orange and a peach
