Tomatilla Recipe
Posted on 01. May, 2006 by dwight in Uncategorized
I saw how to make tomatilla sauce on the Food Network the other day, so I thought I’d give it a try. It was really easy, and I’m excited about experimenting with the recipe.
I don’t know exact ratios, so just fiddle around.
about a pound of Tomatillas, husked.
1 lime, peeled
lemon pepper
garlic powder (real garlic cloves would probably be better)
(Some kind of whole peppers)
blend it all up!
I didn’t have any hot peppers, so I just put about 1/3rd of a bell pepper, and added some hot sauce. Also I added some masa when it didn’t seem the sauce was thick enough, but it balled up pretty good and I think it would be better to add it to the blender. Later, after the sauce was in the fridge for a while it thickened itself (although that might have been the masa, who knows?)
I’m going to try it again with some relatively hot peppers and see how that works out.
