More Mac Book Pro Reflections
March 2, 2006 – 12:46 pm• It is really big… I got 416×132 more pixels in 3 inches wider space… I thought they sent me a 17″ one at first…
• It is light… not sure, but maybe lighter than my old Powerbook 12″
• The track pad is wider (similar dimensions to the screen.) I occasionally try to move the cursor, and notice that I can’t because my left hand is on the pad
• The whole thing is wider (sorry, I’ll get off the “it is really big” thing here in a bit.) I am often putting my hands in the wrong place, as my old keyboard went up to about 2 mm from the edge, now I have I gues 1.5″ between the keyboard and the edge of the computer… on both sides. Even when I have my fingers in the right place, I have hit the speaker grill trying to tab around on a web page… I guess I really orient myself from the left edge of the computer for some reason…
•A few of my old apps don’t work, because it has an intel processor… One that doesn’t, SideTrack, might not make it because of the two finger scrolling that Apple has added to their notebooks. I am getting used to it, but I kinda like SideTrack better.
•I like iWeb… Check out my portfolio page. I wish that they would let you put up a web admin interface, if they did, I’d blog with it. But even though I’m not planning on letting my computer out of my sight any time soon… I’d like to be able to blog away from my computer.
