November 9, 2005 – 12:28 pmABC and DirectTV are making a deal that will let people download commercial free TV shows shortly after they are aired to their DirectTV PVR for $.99. This is a strange idea… I just bought a Personal Video Recorder… I think I will not record my show, because I can always just buy it afterwards.
The only use this has is for if you forget to use the PVR in the way it was designed to be used.
Jeff Zucker, NBC’s president said:
We are extremely aware that viewers can’t always watch these programs when they’re originally scheduled, and this will give them far more control over when they’re able to see these shows.
Wait wasn’t that the entire point of buying my PVR?
